Software developer with an affinity for Python. Author of Full Stack Python. And other Python books and videos. Focusing on Full Stack Python. In late December I sat down to write my annual personal software development year-in-review post, like I had in 2016. However, my excitement for writing the 2017 post just was not there compared to 2016. I could not put my finger on why. My 2017 Year Ahead in Software Development. Talk from May 24, 2016.
This is my research around the evolution of API clients. Not the integrated type of SDK or code client, but the growing number of of web and desktop tooling for developing with APIs. New Postman Pro Features API Monitoring Documentation Generation and Collaboration Tools. It Starts with a Simple REST Client.
Embeddable is focused on tools that provide copy and paste code, that syndicates and distributes data and content around the web. This site focuses on using embeddable tools in the name of APIs, but not always directly using APIs for driving the embeddable tools. The goal of this project is to study how approaches to embeddable tools can be applied as part of an API ecosystem strategy. There are two sides of the embeddable coin, one for API providers and the other for ApI consumers.
This is one of my API research sites, focused specifically on the evangelism around API platforms. My name is Kin Lane. And I am the API Evangelist. With other links to my work. All my research is openly licensed CC-BY.
Integrating with a single API can be tough, let alone multiple APIs. I see integration being about on-boarding, exploration, education, authenitcation, code samples, testing and sandboxing. This API Integration project involves everything between discovery of APIs and going into production. If you have tools or approaches to development of apps using APIs, please let me know.
I did a round-up of API service providers in 2011. And again covered the expanding world of API service providers in 2012. My goal is to make all of my research as accessible as possible, allowing anyone to learn about APIs.
This is one of my API research sites, focused specifically on the monetization around API platforms. My name is Kin Lane. And I am the API Evangelist. With other links to my work. All my research is openly licensed CC-BY.
